January 2018: Samantha Hoffman from the Barrie Fire Department who will be speaking on "Fire Safety and Survival”.
February 2018: Barrie Police Officer John Lamont of the Canine Unit had a short power point presentation but had tons of questions from our members, which John easily answered and was surprised by the quality and number of questions.
March 2018: We welcomed back Steve Travers, the entertaining Barrie Town Crier, who entitled his presentation, "Crime in the 1800’s"..
April 2018: Captain Kent Smerdon, author of the book, "Flight Lines" shared highlights of his career as a commercial pilot for Air Canada and as a pilot for RCAF/Government VIP flights.
May 2018: Judith Banville was to speak on the subject, "Barrie Tornado Remembered", but because of a personal conflict she was unable to make it. However, Bob George, Paul Smith and Tom Bookey shared their personal memories of this event and the following members also shared their memories of that day. It was one of our best meetings thanks to all who shared that day with us!!!
June 2018:
Ron Hoggarth is a retired National Hockey League referee. His career started in 1971 and ended in 1994. He officiated in 1,190 regular season games, 150 Stanley Cup playoff games and three All-Star games.
Ron shared with us some very interesting stories that he gathered in his career as a National Hockey League Referee involving many great hockey legends that he met along the way. Thanks, Ron for your great entertaining presentation!!!

Alex Dault, Artistic Director, Theatre by the Bay, will speak about its production of Northern Lights, the true story of Barrie's "Molson Marijuana Grow Op".
